Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry continues to ramp up activity as he heals from a broken left hand suffered at the beginning of the 2019-20 season.
Curry has been doing “basketball movements” according to head coach Steve Kerr, though he has yet to pick up a ball:
The two-time MVP only had his hand cast removed on Friday, so it seems reasonable that he has yet to do any dribbling work. That could change in a matter of weeks, particularly with Curry set to be re-evaluated in February sometime before the All-Star break.
However, there is also a realistic possibility that the Warriors would elect to hold Curry out for the remainder of the season. They are currently tied for the worst record in the NBA at 6-24, and Curry’s return would only do the Dubs a disservice as far as pushing them further down the lottery.
Then again, Curry has been saying since November that he intends to do everything he can to return to the floor, so it is also feasible that he could resume basketball activitiessoon.
Curry has had enough to deal with off the court, as of late. A series of nude photographs that were said to be of Curry leaked online yesterday, though his agentvigorously denied the allegations.
Bill Simmons and Brian Windhorst stirred up more drama during an episode of “The Book of Basketball 2.0” podcast, in which Windhorst essentially acknowledged a mutual dislike between Curry and LeBron James.
However, LeBron retweeted highlights from Steph’s 2008 March Madness run:
All told, Curry undoubtedly cannot wait to return to the floor, whether that comes in February or next October.
