There may be potential fallout regarding the alleged altercation between Mark ‘Buju Banton’ Myrie and his son Markus Myrie, a dancehall producer known for several dancehall hit rhythms.
The Corporate Communication Unit, the information arm of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, has confirmed that a formal report has now been made regarding an alleged assault at Gargamel Music Studios in St Andrew.
“A report has been made to the Constant Spring police in regards to the Buju matter and a statement will be released soon,” deputy superintendent of police Dahlia Garrick of the CCU told Loop News reporter Claude Mills.
This development comes just one day before Banton’s heavily anticipated Long Walk to Freedom show on Saturday.
On Thursday night, in a series of posts on his Instagram Story, Markus blasted his famous superstar dad while asking President Trump to send him back to prison.
“So much drama since December,” Markus wrote. “This man needs to go back to prison and dead in deh [Donald Trump] Y pree? come for [Buju Banton].”
He also intimated that the confrontation may have been of a physical nature, and threatened to press charges against the senior Myrie.
Buju Banton’s first post-prison concert at the National Stadium in Kingston on Saturday will be the first stop on his Long Walk To Freedom Tour.
