People who are playing the recently released NBA 2K19 can’t help but notice the slight decrease in the ratings of three Golden State Warriors players, namely Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, and Draymond Green.
Each of the three have lost at least one point from their overall ratings, compared to the game’s previous version.
If we are going to base the judgement in how the trio plays this season, then Green should’ve lost more than a point. The seven-year veteran’s production has been a bit down this year. He is currently putting up 7.3 points on 41% shooting including 30% from deep, eight rebounds, 6.8 assists, 1.7 steals, and a block. Last year, Green averaged 11 points while shooting 45% and 24% from distance, 7.6 rebounds, 7.3 dimes, 1.4 steals and 1.3 blocks.
Curry’s stats remain almost the same despite a slight increase in point production this year. He’s putting up 28.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 5.5 assists while shooting 44% from 3. Last year, he had 26.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 6.1 assists while making 42% of his triples.
Durant on the other hand, has improved in almost every major statistical category this year, with 28.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 6.1 assists as compared to his 26-6-5 last season. His shooting percentages are a bit down this year though. Last year, Durant shot 51% from the floor and 41% from deep. This year it’s down to 50% overall and 36% from beyond the arc.
And given the fact that the Warriors have struggled early in the season, you can make a case that the decrease in these players’ ratings are just reasonable.
It’s highly unlikely that Durant, Curry and Green would even bat an eye, as they are solely focused on winning their third straight title.
