The Golden State Warriors have had documented shooting struggles this season. Both Draymond Green and Klay Thompson are having the worst season of their careers. Ironically, the Warriors started 1-of-10 from the free throw line in their matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers. Stephen Curry and DeMarcus Cousins on the bench are just aghast in disbelief.
The Warriors have the NBA’s premier offense with five all-stars on their roster. Their offensive problems are rooted in apathy and injury.
“I think it’s a combination of a lot of things. But we’ve got to be able to counter any defense that we see. That’s our job now. Basically everyone is playing the same way. We’re seeing the same patterns defensively, night in and night out. So we’ve got to adapt to that.
That’s what we worked on today. I have no doubt that we will improve. We’ll improve our execution and find new ways to score.”
Kerr and the rest of the coaching staff have to do something to get their players out of this funk.
Klay Thompson is averaging 21.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 44.0 percent from the field and a career-low 33.7 percent from deep.
Steph and Boogie can't believe how bad the Warriors are shooting at the FT line 🙃 pic.twitter.com/RwmzJySgQ3
