Ayesha Curry, wife of Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry, underwent a successful surgery that removed her thyroid and cyst. It was a relief for the Curry family as Ayesha has had health problems with her recent pregnancy.
Eric Ting of SF Gate wrote a column on this good piece of news, mentioning Ayesha’s Instagram post where she announced her successful surgery.
Curry posted a picture of herself in a hospital bed to her Instagram story, with the caption, “Had my thyroid and cyst removal this am. All went well. God is good. Thank you for your prayers.”
It also appears that Ayesha suffered from a pregnancy condition called hyperemesis gravidarum that caused her to be hospitalized five times with their third child, Canon.
Ayesha also wrote a blog, detailing her everyday hardship because of her rare condition.
“For the past 4 months, I’ve barely been able to eat let alone cook. The mere smell of food averts me. What you’ve seen on Instagram is really all that’s happened. So, a lot of breakfast pancakes and a lot of going into my restaurant simply to say hello and have a non-alcoholic beverage with my diners (I can’t tell you how badly I want a whiskey sour LOL). This all has got me in a funk that I can’t seem to shake. I don’t want to say I’m depressed because I️ take mental health very seriously but I am truly very very sad.”
Ayesha has been his husband’s greatest fan, as we would always see her tirelessly cheering and supporting the Warriors. His wife’s successful operation is a welcome sight for Steph, as the two-time MVP guns for the Warriors’ third consecutive championship this upcoming season.
