Golden State Warriors stars Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant are two of the best shooters in the NBA, and the two have been known to participate in shooting contests after practice. In training camp on Wednesday, the two were back at it.
It looks like — in this short video clip — Durant was getting the better of Curry today. But this short video clip is a microcosm of why the Warriors are so good. If Curry is having an off night, Durant can shoulder the scoring load. If Durant is missing his shots, Curry can go off and sink a flurry of 3s to put the Warriors ahead. And if both Curry and Durant are misfiring, Klay Thompson comes out of nowhere to drop a cool 30 points.
They can come at you from so many different angles, it can exhaust a defense. Draymond Green plays the part of the playmaker and has a knack for putting the scoring trio in a position to succeed. Now they add in DeMarcus Cousins’ presence into the mix to make this team even more dominant.
It’s early, but the Warriors are overwhelming favorites to repeat as champions. Even before they acquired Cousins from the bargain bin, most were penciling in the Warriors as their pick to win a third straight title.
How can teams stop a team with so many elite weapons offensively? Durant and Curry are two of the best offensive talents of a generation, and they haven’t diminished one another since joining forces. If anything, they have helped each other get better while simultaneously picking up their teammate when he’s having an off night.
